I recently removed my transmission and noticed that the up pipes were leaking. The truck has 120,000 miles on it, and when I removed the tranny the first time the truck had 99,000 miles on it. The question I have is, would me not removing the downpipe when removing the tranny have any thing to do with the up pipes leaking. The reason I ask is that the downpipe is resting on the up pipe on the passenger side. My next question is aftermarket or factory up pipes. My down pipe is 4 inch.

I don't think removing the DP made your up pipes leak and I would go with the bellowed up pipes like black widow diesel has and any IH dealer can get them for you also.

I put the stockers back on because I couldn't wait until Monday to get the pipes.

You can change the uppipes w/o removing the turbo but you'll need to remove the downpipe.

I got a small 10mm wrench, and a 1/2" socket for the bottoms and a LOOONGGG extension for the top ones and a 10 mm socket (you may need a swiveling extension with some tape wrapped around it to stiffen it up a little) to get a good grip on 2 of the top 4 bolts. The other 2 are straight shots.....

Chevy exhaust donuts from Car Quest, part #17250. For under $7 it will fix your ailments and have room for tightening up later down the road.
