Converting my truck to 4x4. The swap is almost complete and I got new (to me) drive shafts. The u-joints were junk so im trying to get some new ones. I want spicer!

Anyone have the spicer PNs for the front and rear U-Joints? 3 on front shaft and 2 on rear shaft. Thanks!!!!

What im gathering from some research is the normal greasable spicer u-joints are:
front: 5-213x (times 3 of them)
rear: 5-3147x (times 2 of them)

the spicer life u-joints (non greasable) are:
front: 5-790x
rear: 5-795x

Can anyone confirm?

I hate the games they play with part numbers these days
It used to be U joints were a 10 series a 30 series and a 50 series now they have all these fancy part numbers

Rear driveshaft all 3 same joint:

Spicer 5-178X or 5-1350-1X

at axle, at center support, at transfer case:
Bearing Cap Diameter (In): 1.188 X 1.188 Inch
Greaseable: Yes
Length (In): 3.625 X 3.625 Inch
Snap Ring Type: External

Front Driveshaft, all 3 same U joint:

5-213X or 5-1330-1X

Bearing Cap Diameter (In): 1.062 X 1.062 Inch
Greaseable: Yes
Snap Ring Type: External
Quantity Per Vehicle: 1

I prefer non greaseable they seem to last alot longer and I'm the type that greases everything each oil change

rear driveshaft uses 1350 series, front driveshaft uses 1330 series

Thanks guys, after some more research I found for my RCLB F350 4x4 the rear shaft is 5-1204x in the rear, and 5-213x in the front. The front driveshaft is 5-1204x in the front, and 5-213x (x 2) at the t-case

Don't buy cheap. You'll regret it.

I bought the spicer u-joints just for that reason, I hear great things about their quality.

that is the saeries number not the part number.

the part number will differentiate things like inside or outside snaprings.
or the ford special 1330 that uses one of the cross caps a 1/16th bigger then a standard 1330.

the same ujoints and part numbers have been used by ford since the 70s, you can look that up in the link I posted.
the 5-1204 are the 1330F iirc same as used in the 79 f series

Here in America ( I see you are from BC) I used to be able to go to auto parts store and buy a "1310 or 1330 U joint" now you say that and they look at you like you are nuts.
But then again these are not parts guys anymore, just simply store clerks who can operate a computer

I would say 80's - 90's when most of the trucks I build were built
And again it could have just all been me, my circle of friends and the parts stores I went to "back in the day"
Its in my head please do not try to understand it will only hurt your Canadian brain :) (My wife is Canadian)
