my turbo is making a tea kettle sound randomly at idle up to around 1.5K rpms then goes away. unplug the VGT and it goes away. how long do i have? LOL

Are you sure the "tea kettle" sound isn't from your degas bottle?

I thought the kettle sound was heads/ head gaskets...? I didn't know you could get the same sound from your turbo

is this sound heard from the engine compartment/turbo? not from the exhaust right?

oh damn.. i was hoping maybe this may cause the whistle because i got it also:doh: mine STARTED after i got it back form ford after head work

There are other spots to check if there is still an EGR cooler in there. The cooler to intake gasket. The cooler to up-pipe gasket. The EGR valve gasket.
