Need some advise on drive pressures and turbo? I have a 2005 Ford PS 4x4 CC it has 250cc injectors,Spearco,4.30 gears, ported heads, head studs, ITP fuel system. I am currently running a TN T-66 with a .68 exhaust housing, Drive pressure at WOT is 58psi and boost is 38psi this turbo doesn't light until about 2400 RPM it seem to be about a one to one drive pressure at light throttle. EGT's are high at Hwy speeds 950 to 1050 if you get into the pedal it's 1600 in an instant. If I use nitrous it run's really well. So any Idea's for a turbo should I go bigger in the compressor side or smaller in the exhaust side are will twins fix my problems? Looking to see if I can make it more streetable and be able to tow a 5000lbs boat?

Sounds like you need to check your tunes, or swap injectors......

Here is something similar before the LPOP let go....

Adding a second turbo will fix the drivability issues at low speeds, and improve the top end pull it has now.

The converter is stock 1800, for tunes John Wood & Innovative diesel, Injectors Casserly's 250cc, stock cam. I do have ported heads and ITP fuel system.

I would say a smaller exhaust housing to make it spool at the lower Rpms??? or am I way off base here?

i would start with a converter that has a stall of atleast 2100 or even more. Changing the stall will change how streetable 10 fold. Other then that your setup should run well. You might want to give Tadd a call at Elite he can help you in the right direction.

Joe - the exhaust housing would be a good idea but with pressure differentials it may be going the wrong way. But I may be wrong, open for corrections.

Bigger turbo will make egts worse and lag worse. Higher stall will help the most. So far really no one has made a bolt on non-vvt work that great on a 6.0. 6.0's just do not spool a charger worth a crap, I believe most of it is in the cam design. We will know soon as we will be installing a custom billet cam that Spartan diesel had made in a truck with a 66/.80 to see how well it improves bottom end.

Not sure changing the cam for a daily driver, maybe for a competition truck.

We have a truck right now that spools at 1800, pulls to 4500, has Hypermax 190's.....has about 7 PSI at 65 MPH cruise. 37 PSI, 1450 max EGTs, cleans up 190's nicely.

For a daily driver, the TN 58MM units work with stock injectors.
