New to the forum!

Purchased a 08- f 250 several yrs. ago & had nothing but problems w/
this truck. Would like to know if things ever get better or should I get
rid of this truck. This truck reminds me of a rowboat w/ holes in it. I
have replaced 3 steering boxes. I think I finally have that problem sol-
ved. I installed it's own filtering sys. Then, I was told that if I didn't do
a egr delete I could kiss that engine good-bye, so I did that. By the way
I bought this truck w/ 13,000 mi. on it. This truck now has 68,000 mi. on
it & I have had to replace 4 radiators. They told me when I did my egr
delete, that would solve the problem w/ the radiators. I'm afraid not!
So I really don't know what to do about that. Now, a new issue has come
up. I lost boost & found a steel flex pipe had a crack in it. So I replaced
that which was located in the back of the mtr. After replacing that I found
another pipe near it that is split, so now I'll have to replace that. I am cur-
ious if a aftermarket co. is making these pipes more durable, because they
are very hard to get at. By the way, I didn't mention that I have done all
this work in my own personal shop. I probably would have had to rob a bank
if I had to pay somebody to do all this work.

Thanks for any info or suggestions!

Sounds like you've had a run of bad luck with this truck. I wish I knew of a fix for the radiator, but I haven't heard of anyone going through 4 of them. I think the flex pipes you are talking about are the exhaust uppipes and Rudy's diesel does make upgraded ones. There is also a pipe that runs from the passenger side uppipe to feed the EGR cooler that tends to burst after an EGR delete, that pipe can be removed instead of replaced. To remove that pipe you move the blocker plate from the end of it and move the plate to where it bolts to the uppipe. You will also have to relocate the backpressure sensor, most people tap into the blocker plate after they move it or upgrade to the Rudy's uppipes that have a bung built in for it.

Greasltn,
Want to thank you for the info & where to get what I need.
The up pipe sounds like the one that is split. I will talk to Rudy on mon.,
& show him a picture, so I can definitely identify we are talking about
the same pipe. Greasltn, I need to have this truck reliable for I use it
for work. Do you know of anything else I need to do to this truck, to
limit surprises.
Thanks again Nickl
