I was driving down the hwy yesterday and my truck stumbled and blew a puff of white smoke. Before i could get pulled over the truck was BLOWING white smoke. Shut the truck off immidiatly. when we fired it back up the turbo sounded like it was trying to eat itself! like marbles were being dumped in it. Im assuming the turbo went south, so my question is can i simply pull that turbo off and replace it with another stock turbo? Could that old POS have damaged my engine when it went out? Im gonna try to pull the turbo today. Is there anything i should look or watch out for. Thanks guys.

White smoke? Pull the intake off to where you can see the turbo wheel, check the shaft for play in it. Also might want to pull it and give it a good once over.
