I had the pedestal welded up thinking the leak was coming from it and found the CHRA is leaking where it meets the exhaust side.

I have never seen any mention of this in a Powerstroke forum. Is this unheard of ??? There is absolutely no play in the turbo.

It's a somewhat common problem that the center housing will crack near the turbine housing bolt holes.

I'll find you a link. I've ordered a couple from this place.

To the OP thanks for starting a new properly titled thread when your issue changed.

Cody that is a good link. When you replaced those did you get it things rebalanced or was it a bolt on and go deal.

Bolt on and go, Tom. The part came with new bushings and a new thrust washer too, so it's not just the cast housing.

I didn't worry about balancing them. I marked the shaft and turbine wheel then made sure the marks lined up (using loctite).


No issues.
