I think you can find them fairly regularly for 250. It seems like thoroughbred diesel does the some of the better sales on them.

Why not go with the hydra it is an upgrade from a TS chip. Also if your just talking about TS canned tunes look elsewhere. You can get someone else's canned tunes for about 250 with chip. With more people upgrading there chips there is likely to be a lot more TS chips second hand soon.

Thanks for the advice. I'm looking at the infinity from DP now. Seems like it would be a better value with the monitoring. And I would at least get to pick which canned tunes I want to start with. Plus I can pick a few or several...

Here is a quick question on the Stock tunes vs custom tune from someone else.

I was looking at a DP chip and when you start adding all the stuff.. high idle, the different tow and daily driver setting plus the decel you start getting into the 450 buck range.

I have seen a couple of you tubes where someone put the ts 6 positions chip in and get good results and these are mostly stock truck.. at least stock injectors.

So would a stock or non custom 6 pos chip work well enough for a while to provide more HP for DD and get some better fuel MPG along the way.

Not really doing any heavy towing at this point.

yes they are re burnable..the problem with canned tunes is they do not do any thing for the trans..custom tunes will bump up line psi and move shift points to match the power band..makes the trans live a longer life...

I have seen the hydra as low as 375. Then you can change the tunes as much as you want and have full access to all of the canned tunes that are available for your calibration. No need for a chip burner files are emailed to you and loaded to the chip via USB

Hydra Chip - Power Hungry Performance

i found a chip from local the guy was asking 220 OBO, was thinking of going for buck fifty and see if that would stick.
i am not towing presently just looking for a bit more get up and go. In spring i plan to remove turbo, do rebuild with 360 kit, rebuild pedestal and install new WW replacement along with oil and fuel cross over line.

Is that Hydra chip ready to go, or do you have to buy your calibrations?

You have access to the library of calibrations they have written for your pcm family. Truly custom tunes for wild mods can be purchased threw them or a few other reputable vendors who can write tunes.
