It's a fairly simple job and requires little mechanical ability. Just do it yourself and use the money you save to fill your tank up and go for a cruise

IIRC to do the valve body you will need about 8 quarts

I did my valve body separator plate at work, on a gravel driveway, laying on a sheet of plywood. It is a some what messy job with the trans. fluid dripping all the time. Keep plenty of paper shop towels handy for your hands and tools and for drip spills.

No silicone needed.
IIRC Remove pan, remove thumb filter, remove trans.filter, locate valve body, remove, install new valve body, torque and install filter, install thumb filter, clean pan and surface, install pan, torque pan bolts, refill with correct trans. fluid.
There is a flush procedure in the Transmission forum section at the very top.

No biggy I know I sometimes just click the last page thing and go from there.
I was following the thread earlier today and remember reading the post about the install instructions on ITP website but did not remember seeing the link to it:doh:
Well he shouldn't "F" up the install now seeing the install link is posted 4 times now.

Pan gasket is reusable, no silicon needed. While you are at it drain the conv and blow out the cooler lines and have 18 qts on hand. Mine took a little over 17.
