I'm new to this forum, just sold my 86 bronco and got a 2000 f-250 I've been having an issue with my tranny and couldn't seem to find an answer to what's wrong lol basically when I'm driving and get into 2nd gear it shifts smoothly but if I let off the long skinny pedal it hesitates and feels like it drops back to first. If I put my foot back on the pedal it hesitates again. I checked my tranny fluid and it was black and smelt burnt so I changed the fluid but noticed the pan had metal flakes in it. I'm about to take it to my friends shop to have it looked at, any suggestions as to what's wrong with it? If so what parts would y'all recommend if I'm not using it for towing but plan on goin in the mud

welcome to PSN.
if the fluid was black and smelled burned, let the trans shop make the decision on what to do. probably a minor overhaul. and i would not take a diesel truck in the mud, they are very heavy and sink real fast.
