I am thinking very strong about switching to a ZF6 but I have heard that the trans hump is shorter on the auto's? I talked to a guy on TDG that has done the swap and says that everything fit fine on a 02'. So can somebody give me a credible answer as to f the humps were different between a auto and ZF6.

Thanks

Are we talking about the same thing?
I am talking about the hump in the floor boards that the trans fits up in side of and on a manual, the shifter comes through it.

FYI: the drive shaft has to be lengthened by IIRC 3" for the manual.

thanks

auto will fit in place of a six speed
but a six speed is taller thus needing to cut out and reweld correct trans floor pan

Ok, answer this for me:
Is a 02' automatic truck have a DIFFERENT size or shape hump then a 99?

The big reason I ask is the guy I talked to that has done the swap before said the ZF6 fit right in there but it was on a 02'.

Thanks

I'm thinking of doing the same swap... I've been told the tcases inputs are different too. From what I was told there are two different zf's and each are a different spline count than the auto.

But I have not got a straight answer on either issue... doghouse and tcase. :poke:
