so a tonight i started that my trans out to put my new clutch in. got every thing out with no problems till i hit snag. the guy before me put a clutch in it and when he put it back he locktited the bolts on the started with red locktite. i got the two bottoms out the were a real pain but now i cant get the top out i took the inner fender well out to try and get at it better but i gotta buy a 6 point 17mm so i dont strip it out. now i get the t case out no problem take the trans bolts out get the trans jack under it. and now the trans does not wanna slide off of the motor. i got it in Netral and it still wont come out. any advise this is my first clutch install so any input i will kindly take. is there a trick to get it out i just dont know, and the starter bolts dont have to come out they dont thread into the trans so idk why it wont come out.

I just took out a ZF yesterday. Is it moving back at all? If not there is still a bolt in it. Make sure you got them all. There are 3 on the driver's side and 2 on the passenger's side. The top ones for me were most easily accessed from the cab through the floor. Then you can also look through the holes in the top of the bellhousing and see the shaft on the teeth of the clutch. If you have all of the bolts out then just be persistent. We did it with a 4 ton floor jack and 3 guys. One working the jack, one balancing the tranny, and one in the cab with a 4 inch strap wrapped around the tranny to help with stabilization and lifting it off of the clutch teeth. Hope that helps.
