Okay, I live in Fla. and it has been pretty hot here lately. I guess from the winter I'm used to see my tranny temps at about 155-165ish. Now that it's summer I'm seeing anywhere from 170-195. The 195 will be in kinda stop and go for awhile here in Jax. This is all running unloaded. I do have a SunCoast setup. This seem kinda normalish for the summer? I've always heard that 100-110 degrees over ambient temps is normal. Thanks for any replies.

yeah 195 is ok...but be careful loaded, as long as ur converter is locked on the highway it will stay cool, stop and go tends to create heat!! from locking and unlocking. also check the temps with a scan tool, that will let you know if its correct, my auto meter gauge reads about 15-20 high.

My truck is never loaded. The only thing I haul is ASS. My converter locks in
4th and 5th, or 5th and 6th or however it goes. I just added 4.30 gears about 2 or 3 months ago. Maybe that has something to do with it? I don't think so though. I will take my mech. to lunch one day and we'll check that. Thanks for some knowledge.

Well, I have come to the conclusion that my guage sucks. Well, doesn't suck but is going bad. I was sitting in the driveway a few minutes ago and just got back from running to the kids school for a sec. and I just happend to be looking at my tranny temp. It jumped down from 170 to 155 in a split second. So either the sending unit is bad or the guage. It's an Isspro that's been in the truck since 02/04. Maybe time for those new guages I want. What does everything think of the AutoMeter Nexus system? Are they slow or kinda quick? The EGT guage is the speedy one I'm concerned about. I do run an Outlook as well though.

And just for added info, most built trans will run a little hotter than the stocker.

SPA gauges rock. The dual gauges save a lot of space too.
