what do you mean they dont throw rods out of the blue?
Sure they do.. ive personally seen it happen on 2 trucks, one a pmr and one a 97 forged rod, the 97 was stock, the 2001 pmr motor had just a chip. the first one through a rod due to a piston cooling jet that had fallen off and wasnt gettin oil to that hole and it just got warm i guess and siezed the piston pin up and the rod snapped right below the small end. the other looked like it snapped due to high timing and very high drive pressure.
