you can count me in i love that truck and i love the 7.3s, but them dang 6.0 are fun too
I see his point Fuzz. Only a 4 year run for an engine used by 2 Worldwide corps is short. In their time line it can take years from a drawing board, to mock ups in clay etc, to tooling to make parts, to actual durability tests. The Fire was short.
But have 6.0 fun. After all that E4OD came out in 1989 to a rough start. Brand new stock trucks launched their parking gears into the 2wd's tail housings like a buzz saw.

Messy stuff

She's come a long way.
The auto industry is so large it's lost it's roots. Men like John Wood, Jon Faubion, BTS, Pipewiner, and myself have turned it 180. Back to the ways of Henry Ford. Who looked for better ways late at nite in his barn. Things todays corp won't do. Because a $2 drain plug is $2 X 400,000 units and $800,000 saved to them. They congratulate themselves for that. I think all mentioned would agree with me saying: We Congratulate ourselves for much Higher Achievements with Big Fire that make hearts race and jaws drop.

Concrete, Whiner, Henry and Oldfield would have loved that! I didn't forget you Lukes out there....This is the tech forum we finally have.
