Had a friend who was riding with me that said he hardly ever used 1st gear (not the creeper gear) for taking off from a stop when he used to have a manual shift PSD. He said he usually just took off in 2nd.

Is this advisable? Any other guys with hand shakers doing this?

I know of people that have done this...you shouldn't have any issues doing this.

He probably means not using Low gear (1/6). Can't see why anyone would start in this gear unloaded/for regular driving, it's a dog-leg gear so it's not only uncomfortable to use, but impractical/unnecessary being so low.

Edit - Guess he meant 1st. Maybe he had 4:10's or a lower gearing? With pretty much stock size tires, 2nd gear is a good little bit higher than 1st. Only use it if over 2-3mph or trying to get a fast start from a stop/"racing". Seems like unnecessary clutch slipping.
