So i am getting a surg in my truck while its in park after i pull a trailer for a while or drive on the beach. it sounds almost as if the torqu converter is locking in and out at idle. after the truck cools it does not do this. any suggestions?

or is it more like a rough idle,give us alittle more detail.:ford:
it sounds like you are dropping it in gear when its in park like you are putting a load on it. the idle seems to be smooth as far as missing is concerened. if you put it in gear while it is doing this you can feel the truck trying to move. if feels like somthing is locking in. it only does it after it has been fun hard like pulling a trailer or running on the beach.
has anyone bypassed their trans cooler that is in the radiator and just used the factory external one?

you may have an icp issue, you need to run a datastream on it and see what the value is and what its doing.

well this is good, my 06 will do the same thing after its run hard pulling the fiver.
it feels like an old gasser with a choke problem or bad plug wire. it will idle up a few then back to normal.
I thought it was the a/c clutch or the cooling fan. but they were not it. i can see the engine "stumble" when it does it.
is yours more effected by heat or just towing?

According to my 04 F350 6.0 Manual, engine will do this to cool turbo when placed in park after engine has been under load.
