im putting on my ats housing and i cant get the clip on the actuator rod off. from what i can feel it is a c-clip, but i cant see it. btw im doing this with the turbo still on the truck. anyway, if anyone could give some advice on how to get the clip off, it would be great. its the only thing holdin me up.

Good luck! You need to get a spare one, cause when it comes off its going where no man has gone before. Make sure your parked on a good clean floor. I think I had to take a screwdriver and a hammer to get mine off the first time. Its easire if the turbo is already loose, and you can halfway see it. Just roll the turbo over as far as possible to get to it. If your set on doing it in the truck , good luck. You can do it, but its hard. Better have a spare clip for sure. You might could put some grease on it to hold it from flying out when you knock it off. Or maybe bubble gum.....lol

thats what i figured. the floor im working on is spotless. im going to just pop it off and buy a new one if i cant find it. thanks for the quick reply!

I'd seriously consider the chewed bubble gum. Just put a big glob of it over the clip before popping it off. If that dont work, try duct tape. That'll fix anything.

i got it. i used a 10 mm socket and just removed the actuator from the housing. i dont know why i didnt just do that in the first place. thanks for yall's help.
