stock turbo in compounds?

brain fart of the day....

why can't you use a stock turbo in a compound setup, say with a garret 42 or 45? could it be made to use the stock for low end boost and spool up the big guy up. Sure would make a nifty diy kit.

aside from having to figure out new piping and flanges or
would the boost just blow the stocker apart?

1.0

The only thing the .84 is good for is a stock truck IMO
Mine spools pretty good, I have a little more fuel though.

It's wierd because it spools ok on the street, just from a stop light etc. But if I do a boosted launch it takes FOR EVER. Like 5 secs to even start moving the needle LOL
Even though I know there is a difference, I can tell no SOP difference between a .84 and a 1.0 on a stock truck.
On a stock truck, meaning no chip, exhaust, intake, etc.

I could see that.

There was a definite difference when I swapped in the Banks 1.0 when I had just chip, intake, exhaust
were u planning on using that K31 as ur pusher with the stock turbo as ur puller?
Pusher/Puller  ?

The stock turbo would be the secondary, little turbo.

K31 would be big stage, primary
Depends on the configuraton. You need a map on it to tell that.

WAG I'm gonna say 550
That setup was on buddy's truck and he took it off when he went compounds.
They may have it on another one though, I'm not sure.

He does know how to make it work though. :D
