Installing a set of dual steering stabilizers on my 06 F250. Directions say to remove the stock one and I have both nuts off but cannot get the pressed in part free. I have tried beating on it with a hammer and prying with a crowbar but still no go. Suggestions? What happens if I leave the stock one on the truck with the duals?

Hit the outer brace(holds pressed part) with a hammer..it'll pop right out.

You can even see some hammer marks where I hit mine,...all ball joints are the same,..if you hit them where I pointed...sometimes just a light tap will knock them free.

This pic will give you an idea where to hit to remove those "pressed" joints....hit in the direction of the red arrow.

I drove around for almost a year before I finaly took it off. Spray it with some PB blaster and let it soak a bit then use a hammer.

Depending on what kind of steering stabilizer setup you purchased, if you leave the stock on it will effect how wheel the return to center of the steering feels.
