Sound deadining and water leak

I recently picked up a 96 OBS and it needed a good cleaning so I am pulling the carpet and going to pressure wash it. First issue I ran into is that there is some moisture/water showing up right below the blower fan where the floorpan starts any ideas where to look, truck has not been ran in 5 days and this is what is showing up

Second issue is this sound deadining material that was put in by PO in the drivers and passenger foot feet is all cracked and coming off what should I replace it with?

Thanks

Also do I need to pull off the mass backing material from the carpet prior to pressure washing?
I would look at the drain in the heater box(engine compartment side)

If that sound deadening is coming loose, just remove it
Thanks hope its just the drain. I completely forgot it rained about 3 inches the other day so I guess it could be my cab lights leaking which is more than likely since there is some moisture in each of the corners going down to the door seal.

I will remove it just looking for options on what to replace it with figured now was a good time to just sound deaden it all.

Also in each rear cab corner I noticed about a 1/2 hole and wondering if there is supposed to be a rubber plug in them if so anyone know where those can be bought?
Leave the plugs in the cab corners out. At least that way id water gets in, it can get out and not rot everything
Thanks, I guess I need to pull the headliner tomorrow and get the garden house out and track down my leak.
I found my water leaks, first one is third brake light and possibly a little bit of the bottom of the rear window seal (hopefully just the brake light). Next the two plugs in each rear corner of cab between it and bed is leaking in a little. I think the drivers side front leak is the door seal since and the passenger side appears to be the glue holding the heater box on the firewall appears to have one spot that is dripping.

On the soundproofing situation, the PO has sprayed something gray all over the inside of the cab and roof its not very thick but assume to help with noise is this going to cause a problem with putting some dynamatt or similar product down?

WHAt?
about two inches up the back of the cab there are two plugs about 2 inches in diameter and the passenger one is all dried up and letting some water in there. I got rain again last night and had some more leaks show up and after some research and more looking think my issue might be the rain rails (or whatever they are called above the doors) there seems to be a little bit of rust starting along edge of sealant and think the water may be following the seams.

Will be eventually painting the truck so now debating between just putting some clear RTV in the seals for the time being or to wire wheel all of the old stuff out and put the right sealant in and primer for now.

Are you talking SuperDuty? Because OBSs do NOT have plugs in the back of the cab
No its an OBS not sure maybe someone added them at one time here is the passenger one and there is one on driver side as well.

That is added, NOT stock

Good to know that leak can be fixed pretty easy. Luckily it has been raining all afternoon so have had a chance to pinpoint the leaks. I was able to get some clear RTV in the rain rails prior to the rain to see if that helped the leaks and unfortunately it didn't.

I cant feel any water coming down the a pillar so dont think its cab lights and pretty sure both front leaks are narrowed down to areas under the cowl that need resealed. Not sure if there is a trick to it or not but wasnt able to get it out just couldnt get enough clearance between it and hood.

The back leak is this body seam I sealed the back side below the window not sure if it helped or not I think the water is getting through the window seal and just coming out through the seam.

RTV is NOT your friend. You want BODY SEAM SEALER
Yeah I dont expect the RTV to hold up for long.

I bought the truck wrecked a heavy duty cattle guard started at drivers door and went all the way down truck. Door and cab pillar not to bad but the whole bedside is shot it pulled the old patch panel clean out and passenger patch panel is starting to rust through so been trying to find a clean bed to start with.

The truck had been repainted a darker green and I will eventually be repainting back to factory green and will clean out the old sealant and redo the correct way just want to get all these items addressed first. Have a buddy that does body work coming down in a couple weeks so if I don't get them fixed by then hopefully he can help me locate them.

So I thought I had the leaks fixed in the front after cleaning the wiper cowl drains again real good. Last night we got 1 1/2 rain and they are showing up again, the passenger side is alot better but no difference in the drivers.

Pass: only wet spot was right below the wiring connections unless it leaked up higher and that had dried by this morning, definitely a lot less leaking than last time though.

The leaks in the back are the rear window seal so I will just replace it but was wondering on the floor at each corner there is a hole and has some foam around it, was this factory and should I remove that foam so that it dont hold water and cause it to rust? Sorry not a very good pic, not the rubber plug but down in bottom left of picture almost by the bottom seatbelt bolt.

Not really sure where to start next the leaks never show up when using a garden hose just after sitting in a long rain so dont know if I need to use a sprinkler and let it sit on the truck for a while or what.

I finally got the leak to show up after about 10 minutes with a garden hose running on the wiper cowl. I think the drivers side leak is coming through the hood latch cable from what i can feel it is dry above it but cannot see back there to verify 100%. Anyone ever seen this happen before, and would best fix be a new cable or pull the cowl and see if I can get some sealant around it from that side. My other thought is maybe that rubber grommet on there be pushed in flush with the firewall, I tried but it didnt seem to want to go in any farther.

I thought about pulling the ebrake off but it doesn't appear that I will get any better look at things in that area.

For the pass side it didnt leak after an hour with the hose in the cowl but it did once i started power washing everything, it appears to be leaking in the same spot as before. It is coming through the foam between firewall and heater box, should I pull the box off the outside and reseal?

I also noticed this hole in the firewall above the gas pedal will probably just find something to plug them with but didnt know what they were for.

Foam in cab corner is factory and it HOLDS water.

Check your firewall for any holes(from engine side)
My bronco had an alarm horn mounted there with 2 self tapping screws. You would of thought it rained inside from them 2 holes
Thanks, I haven't been able to locate any additional holes on the engine side other than above the gas pedal. The pass side leak is a lot better now and at least it will be leaking onto the floor mat and not into the door channel like the drivers side.

I pressure washed the engine bay so will take a good look for any extra holes if I cant find any hidden ones then I guess it will be time to pull the cowl off and see what I can find.

On a side note any ideas what the PO might have been doing with this? He spliced in both red wires on the drivers door and ran it across to the pass side as far as I can tell. Are those the power wires for windows and locks?

Any tips to removing the wiper cowl, I started trying that a couple weeks back and could not get the drivers side of it out from the windshield trim and figured I better stop before I mess the paint up. I was thinking of adjusting the hood forward to get it out or if can find another set of hands just pull the hood since its only a few bolts.
