Hi guys

I started the truck this morning. Then I coast down my driveway. All of a sudden my WTS and seat belt light go on and then off as well as my radio. After that happened my cruise control and my horn wouldnt work and still dont work.

What would cause this? CPS?

thanks,
Andrew

Clockspring? I would first check all battery connections and the batteries. Your truck may be trying to warn you of bad time to come.

Of course, with it being this close to halloween, it could of course be the ghost of the original owner.

Hey Andy

I think your right on the money because also my air bag light has went on and has stayed on for the past few months

Here is a quote from a Chrysler recall

clockspring in the steering wheel, which provides power to some internal components, may have been installed off-center. This may cause the air bag warning lamp to illuminate; the driver's air bag, horn, or cruise control may stop working.
How much is it to repair this usually?

thanks,
Andrew

I know but its the first thing that popped up on the Google machine when I typed in clock spring. Looky here Fords have the same problem http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/524839-air-bag-light-blinking.html or look here http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/153393-airbag-code-32-clock-spring.html

this is exactly what has been happening to my truck. I will look at the battery connections tomorrow and check the fuses as well.

Does anyone have a guess on how much time is involved to get it fixed?

thanks,
Andrew

I am not trying to fix it myself. I am trying to see how long it will take so I can have a general idea of how much it will cost for the dealer to fix it.

Watch out this is going to be (Andrew's CARNAGE 5.0) thread. Lets see how many posts we can get in this one. Oh yeah the dealership could screw things up almost as bad as Andrew so we shall wait & see where this goes. I plan on book marking this because I think this thread will be a winner! :redspotdance:

Starting with a deployed air bag. "But I had the batteries disconnected."

Andrew, seriously, try it yourself. Look in your manual, read the directions like ten times, and tear into it. Simple job.

Look at it this way andrew... what have you got to lose by digging into it yourself? I mean even if you tear it apart and can't figure it out, you can still take it to the dealer if you so wish, maybe they will give you a discount for doing half the work of tearing it apart, on second thought they will probably still rape you of any money you have in your pocket. Just try it... theres nothing to lose.

Yep, you've only played with the fuel system before & your truck still runs & I think that's alot harder than some spring. Just be a man & have at it! We'll give you all of the shi....help that you'll need! :D

If you lay your cheek right against the front of the steering wheel, the air bag will not deploy. I promise.
