I'm looking to put a smaller fuel tank in the 2000 to loose some weight towards the rear. Has anyone one done one and what tank would be best to use? Moremph's truck has a tank from a ranger in it but it's a pain to put fuel into. Thanks. I wasn't sure if this shouldbe here or in tech so move it if needed

Look for a tank from an early 80's F150. My '80 F150 had a 14 or 15 gallon front tank, it couldn't have been more than 3 feet long.

Not allowed to have them in the bed or on the weight bracket. It needs to be in the stock location

ive seen factory tanks cut in down, and then new ends welded in. it would only be as wide as the space between the tank straps.
