so i went cheap and bought a SB conOFE, and didnt buy a DD clutch.
after all the help in a previous post sounds like its not a good idea to try again with only a single disk. my thoughts are, the ofe is rated for 450hp/900ft.lbs. im at about 310hp +/-now,with plans for stage 2 singles and a D66 in the near future. will it not hold up if i pull in the right gear 4lo/2nd
4lo/3rd was to high i think with 35" tires and 3.73's.

It will not take the heat! It isn't designed to be slipped.

Guess i'll be a wannabe awhile longer.

was talking with a guy at a pull ,he & his wife both pull ,she's pulling with a older powerwagon and we started talking clutches, single disk Mcloud is in her truck and havent had any problems,
not trying to start a pissing match, was hoping with a bit of overkill on the SB ratings could have a bit of fun without smoking a new clutch

Or if you just really have to go pull you can just run the next lower gear and just let it build up through the boost instead of "launching" it.

The slipping is the enemy. If you don't burn the chit out of it, obviously it will hold.

But chances are.......that even with minimal slip it will give up on you. I know mine does.

I had to remove one off of an early 99 because the pedel would sometime stick to the floor. I called Peter from South Bend and he told me to do this. Fixed the prob.
