A day in history with memories so vivid.

I had answered the phone from the dealership just minutes before. As they were telling me that Jody's truck had been delivered, my mom turned the TV on to Good Morning America.

The families of those that parrished and survivors of 9/11 will always be in my prayers.

I was eating breakfast in the kitchen. The TV was on the Today show in the living room when they broke in to say that there was an explosion/fire at the WTC. We walked into the living room and were watching the coverage live when the second plane hit. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT MORNING! I can't believe it's been 6 years...I remember it and feel it like it was yesterday!

For those of you with flags, they should be at half-staff (if possible) today in rememberance.

I was on my way into work listening to a live radio report. I just assumed it was a bad commercial air disaster. The instant they announced the second one hit, I knew what had happened.

I walked into the office and grabbed the TV out of the breakroom and set it up in the office. We were glued to the TV all day.

I was getting ready to go to class. Didnt make it that day though.

What really pisses me off is the liberal media will NOT show the planes crashing into the buildings anymore. They say it will breed hate. WTF! Fox news showed it once this morning, but they said that would be it. They need to show those videos EVERYDAY if you ask me. Never forget.

A very powerful video!

I disagree about seeing it every day though. For many people, it would get "tuned out", they would get de-sensitized to it and it would lose some of its power.

I do agree that today, of all days, we should be reminded of the tragic loss of life of 9/11/01...and the sacrifices made by our Soldiers since. Television should be showing the footage today...we should be reminded that the freedoms we enjoy on a daily basis come with a cost, and that sometimes that cost isn't paid by Soldiers on the battlefield.

I was working at the motorcycle dealership when it happend. I was driving into work when the first one hit. I got into the shop and got to the tv right before the second one hit and saw it live. It's an image that's burnt into my memory forever. Then watching them fall and immediately thinking of all the people that were still in there. Then really kinda freaking out when the Pentagon was hit then hearing about the plane in Penn. Just a flat out ####ty day.

Sept 10th I had just gotten back from a deployment from PSAB Suadi Arabia, we were doing Operation Northern Watch (bombing runs), we were always getting targeted, and had a few SAM missles come very close to hitting us..

Sept 11th I was all snuggled in MY bed at Langley Va. trying to enjoy some time off. I had awoke to a ruckus, people were running down the halls and a friend started to beat down my door.. I turned on the TV while I was throwing on my DCUs and hearing all of the Alert Jets launching in full afterburner.. So I went into work and started to help get the rest of the planes off the ground.. Its not fun to see fighter jets being loaded up with live missles on your own soil.. After that Day O.N.E. (Operation Noble Eagle) started, we flew 24/7 around the country fully loaded with live missles to protect everyone.. This is still going on as of today..

I was at work when the boss came out and said "A plane just hit the Twin Towers". We all went into the showroom and watched for about 5 min. We all thought this was just an accident. Then myself and a co-worker went into the breakroom and turned on the TV. Just as the picture came up we saw the second plane hit. I turned to him and said,"We are under attack".

The phone to the store rings, and my boss tells me my wife is on the phone. She asks me if we heard the news, I told her yes. She asks me what should we do? I told her to put the Flag out!!! I then told her I would be home as soon as possible.

I left work around 2:00pm. There was no buisness coming in, understandably. On the drive home I go over RT.287 on River Road and I can see the smoke coming up from the City. I got so mad my nose started to bleed and I got the shakes. When I got home everyone in the neighborhood was home. I got in touch with all of my family and all were OK.

A little bit later I hear a plane coming from the East. I look up, and it is an F-15. To see it was both scary and comforting. Around 5:00pm I get in touch with my little brother, and he tells me he has to bring digging equipment into the City. Every heavy equipment mover was busy bringing stuff into the City for 3 days at least. I asked if I could go with him. He said the Police are checking everyone going in and if you don't have to be there they don't want you there.

The next day I was off from work and watch the news all day.

I remember sitting in the classroom of our agriculture building at the high school watching the live news as the 2nd plane hit and the towers crumbled to the ground.

Just the thought of it all, still brings cold chills, I will never forget how we were all affected the day the lives of Americans changed.

To those who lost there lives in all of the horrific events that happened that day, to those families of those affected, to those courageous rescue crews that entered the buildings without even blinking an eye. We as true blooded Americans pray in your honor.

And as we all sit at our televisions tonight and curse at our government leaders for what has happened in war since that day, let us remember what those soldiers on foreign soil are fighting for. They fight to protect each and everyone one of us, they fight to protect the freedoms we so ill mannerly forget we have, they fight to protect the sacred land, united under god.

So to all of you, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

America Will Always Stand and In God We Still Trust

those punk mother####ers. they will rot in hell. justice will be served regardless. god bless the families of those who parrished.
That is the same exact way I fill.

I think every time I see vids or pics of that day what if I was on one of those plains could I have made a difference and changed the outcome of that day, do any of you think about that also.

I was at home getting ready for school when my dad told me to come and watch this, and I saw the 2nd one hit live and I will never forget that ever, then I went to school and we watched the news all day and talked about what had happened.

Well, i was stationed in Alaska when this day happened. I remember waking up to my radio alarm and all i heard were the words World Trade Center and didnt think anything of it. I got up and took a shower and then turned on the tv after getting ready for work. Thats when i saw the news and said to myself, i better get to the base before they lock it down. As i was driving to work, i called my roommate and told him he better get to work, because the traffic on the highway was backed up about 1 1/2 miles. So i stayed in line as the Gate guards were checking every ID going into the base. Then all of a sudden i see vehicles driving into the median and turning around, i knew right then and there, the base locked down and no one was getting on or off the base. The Alaskan pipeline runs right thru the town i was living in and when i got home i was talking with my landlord when all of a sudden this little Cessna takes off from one of the local runways. About 3 minutes later we hear an F-16 flying overhead and was more than likely telling the guy to get his plane out of the sky. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life.

I have a great friend of mine right now over in Kuwait running up and down the Iraqi highways doing convoys. He is on this site and his name on here is TurboDiezel. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he and his fellow Airmen are doing one of the most dangerous jobs over there. We lost a young guy earlier this year to an IED explosion and when something like that hits that close to home, it makes remember what started all of this.

I think the news showing the planes hitting the Towers once a year on the anniversary is not a bad thing, it REMINDS us.

And one last thing everyone, Dont ever FORGET!!!

Being in the military, we never forget what happened that day, we had a formation in our shop the on Tuesday and had a moment of silence. Everyone should do that on the anniversary.

There was one "good" thing that I got out of watching the events unfold on TV.

In this day and age it is easy to assume that people are bad by nature. That everyone is only out for what is best for them. After watching how everyone pulled together and helped each other, and the genuine concern for their fellow man and for the welfare of this country. All the stories of heroism......

It really made me step back and realize there are still "good" in people.

-proud to be an American.
