Well I'm looking around at some SD crews and I'm just wondering how far will the automatics go before they need an overhaul. I'm talking 2000-2003 SDs. I found some good deals but the mileage scares me.Not on the engine but the trans.I know this can vary due to idiot drivers or good drivers but hopefully one of yall veterans can give me a wild/best guess.

It really does vary a lot.

I smoked my stocker at 90K miles. But hey, I was also pretty rough on it too. Seen other trucks that have over 200K miles on the stocker.

It all depends on how it's treated and what it's used for. Plus a little sprinkle of luck or pixie dust goes a long long way.

I had 210k on the stock tranny in my first 2002 F250

The one I have now is at 110k, and I dont plan on replacing it anytime soon

Add an after market valvebody from BTS or John Woods for around $225 and your tranny will like you longer.
