Just got off the phone with a buddy of mine. Couple months ago he accidentally left his garage door up (just a little bit) one night. Couple of punks crawled under and in. They stole the face plate from his truck stereo (didn't take the whole thing, just the face plate WTF???) and stole some cash out of his vehicle too.

My buddy has been baiting the little bastards ever since this happened. He took 50# fishing string and tied hooks into it about every foot and strung it the length of the garage door secured with bungee cord on either end, and then left the garage door open by just a foot or so. Well... Last night they came on in again

He woke up to screaming at one AM coming from his garage. His catch included 2 little #### heads one was 13 and the other 16, and they were all tangled up with hooks stuck in them EVERYWHERE and the fishing string still anchored to the wall via bungee cord. Apparently the two were rather wrapped up, and weren't going anywhere! He said the cops and paramedics guys were laughing so hard at the little crybabies (apparently they were both crying their little eyes out) they couldn't hardly control themselves.

I always wanted to do something like that to catch a thief.
My dads shop was broken into a year or two ago, and they took all his tools, and my portable generator, and other stuff. Wish I'd had something like that then. Really wanted to hook 110volts to the race trailer. That oughta keep the winos from Pi$$$$ on the sides!
Good to hear the little punks got caught. No serious injuries?, maybe they will learn not to screw with other peoples stuff!

Holy crap I have been ripped off so many times and the money I have lost is unrecoverable...but that story makes me feel so good. And just as I am feeling good about it i hope to whatever that they don't turn it around and get a $#@$$%% lawyer...that is priceless. TAter

What kills me is the fact that they didnt touch his tool box full of Snap On stuff. They just took stupid trinket stuff like the face plate and a cheap watch.

Because kids are stupid. When I think back to that age I realize what a dumbass I was.
