hello all ive been useing motor craft 15-40 oil and filter sence i got the truck but is there a better oil to use and is it worth useing rev-x? and does anyone know if it increases gas milage? thank you all for your input
rev-x is good stuff. imo no its not worth it. any good 5w-40 oil will work great for stiction. keep using the same filter though! theres a sticky posted at the top of the form about ''PHP's rev-x findings'' in a 6.0 powerstroke. hope this helps
mobil 1, and Valvoline premium blue extreme is good stuff. I'm like Ivan, i've been using Amsoil for a very long time...series 3000 5w-30 and the 5w-40. I have no complaints with the amsoil and i'm also a preferred customer and get it at a lower price, but like Ivan said...it's still pricey. I think with tax and shipping for 4 gallons of 5w-40 and a Eabp100 by-pass filter came to around $175. I also use Archoil's AR9100 friction modifier in the oil. I use to run the rev-x, but this stuff is half the price and does the same thing.
I have also been using amsoil 5 w30 series 3000 since as long as I can remember use it in my 06 f30 04 f350 in our 08 navi and #### you guys might shoot me for this I even use it in our lawn mower lol. I am not a preferred customer but rather a commercial cstomer might be the same pricing but not sure and I buy it buy the barrel, and can write it off also so really doesn`t make it all too pricey. Love the stuff.
alright i was taln to my budy slash mechinac and he said i hsould try mobil 1 delvac or something like that he said rotella seems to make the fords run ruffer so thank you all for that info but 15-40 is a nogo and even at summer temps i should run a 5-40??
oh oil additive what about that sure shots stuff i bought it and used it and in that same oil change my cam sensor crank sensor ficm all took and #### then the hot start issue so i was pissed at it from bringen my bad juju but i still have a gallon of the stuff heh should i give it a shot again??
