Not long ago my 2000 7.3 caught fire and burned to a crisp in the drive way while I was at work. Source of the problem, on a cold day, I had the block heater plugged in so I could easily start the truck and use it when I got home. :doh: Thanks to the fire department the back hoe and barn it sat next to were saved, but the truck was a goner. Caution: since investigating this I have heard of the same thing happening to three other trucks. So now I read all I can about the 6.4

Good power, below average mileage, great ride (compared to my '02 anyway)

Stock they're slugs, deleted and tuned they're monsters. Easy to make power, hut can have big repair bills if things go wrong. I loved mine when it was running, unfortunately it's going up for sale once the new short block goes in
