I posted up in the 7.3 aftermarket section, then realized in retrospect it might make more sense to post up here  sorry for the cross-post...

At any rate, I'm looking for a reputable shop to do a trans R&R, so I can get my BTS in next month. Can you recommend anyone? I'm in PA, near the DE state line.

Already got one quote from a place in Chester County PA for $525, including swapping for a 6.0L cooler, no fluids.

Thansk for your input.

Eric.

$525 doesn't sound bad at all of course you could do it yourself.

Never did a trans swap. Suspect I don't have all the tools for it. Certainly wouldn't have the time required for the OJT to do it on my own, as the truck is my DD, and can't be down for long.

it took me and a buddy a day to pull his trans out, the flywheel and replace the TC then reinstall it....... no special tools needed.

just kinda awkward since it was a trans with the transfer case attached.

I just paid $400 + fluids to swap in my new trans and torque converter here in Texas. They flushed the stock cooler out, but did not have to remove it.
