Don't think you can get that info from the vin. May have to get someone to look it up from the numbers off the tag.

Well, I could go to the shop and check the rear end tag, but didnt want to drive up there again today. Oh well, thanks anyway. Guess it'll have to wait till tomorrow.

You may be able to, but not with the decoder on www.fleet.ford.com

A dealer may have a better tool for that though.

Does the truck still have the door sticker? If you do the axle code on the sticker is easy to decode. The last 6 digits of the vin are the build code, which give the build information, S/N, warrenty code, etc.

Open the drivers side door. Look down low on the door jamb of the truck about shin high of your right leg. Just below the bar code on that tag it will say "axle"
