I've got Super Tech in there from &8^### mart right now.

My "FRIEND" oke: gave it to me so I put it in.

Is this decent stuff? What's the best out there.


Also, I'm running NO LS additive, for a while truck didn't chatter or anything and will hook up both tires, on blacktop everytime.

Now I think I have a chatter when I turn. Hope I didn't hurt anything. How much LS additive should I add to start with? 2 oz ?

I want just enough to stop the chatter but want it to still hook up.

Sure, there is better stuff that will show lower wear over time compared to the the ST stuff, but it's not like it's destroying your differential.

As far as the LSD additive...I would add one bottle of the Ford stuff and see how it works and do a bunch of tight "figure eights" in a parking lot. If you still have the moaning/groaning after that, then add 2oz at a time until problem is solved.

Depending on the distribution network WalMart's SuperTech oil is either Mobile Oil or Warren Petroleum Products (look on the bottom of the bottle it'll say WPP if it's Warren). Is it synthetic? The Sterlings spec synthetic oil, which in the case of most gear oils means it'll be a group III oil. For OTC non-special oils RedLine makes some of the best gear oils you can get.

For less expensive options Schaeffers makes great gear oils and saved a lot of our failure prone diffs at work. Also, Delo's ESI line of gear lubes are great for the money. I think they are one of the only "mineral" based gear oils to get the 750K mile drain cert from Eaton.

Add very small amounts of friction modifier, too much is bad. It's easier to add more, not so easy to take it out.

Why?

Because it is harder to do LOL!!!

but for real it is better because it really gets the LSD working just think about how much tighter the figure eights will be so that means that the outside tire is moving alot more than the inside tire working the diff more and that is how I always check diffs out it works really good.

I am running fine on three spider gears. Have been for over a year. Both wheels lock up good, at least I think they do. When I stand on the brake and the go pedal at the same time, then let off the brake, I leave four black marks on the pavement.
