Does a 96 f-350 5 speed have a limited slip rear end?

okay well woul it hurt if i put in a limited slip lubrication when i changed the gear oil in the rear end?

There should be a tag hanging off one of your bolts on the cover if you have limited it should say 3L55 For 3.55 Limited slip or 4L10 4.10 Limited slip if there is no L then it an open diff

Look at the decal on the door jamb, and report the axle code here. The only two I know by heart are C9 for 3.55 LS and 39 for 3.55 open.

Look at the axle code on the sicker in the door inside the door jam.

If it's 2 numbers, then it is an open diff. If it is a letter and a number, C5 or C9, then it is a limited slip.

There are only 2 gear ratio options for our trucks so there are only 4 axle codes. I don't know the open diff codes but C5 is 4.10s and C9 is 3.55s.

No...it won't hurt anything...LS lube just has an additive to help the clutches.
