Mods on the truck are as follows...
Intake, 4" exhaust, gauges, DP Tuning, and a fully built tranny.

Which of the two following setups would net a QUICKER ET????

Big Oil, Turbo, and stage 1's.

or

Hybrids and a turbo?

My vote goes to the hybrids/ turbo. Reasoning---fuel. Big oil will help, but I honestly think that $$for $$ the hybrids will make more power, if the turbo is making enough air.

Hybrids and a turbo... Big oil is for TQ and useable power... If you want to go fast in the 1/4 at that power level then hybrids and a turbo.

hybrids will be quicker in the 1/4 (big ones) but the oil and stage 1's would be better for towing, fun to drive, etc. IMHO

How in the hell does a guy get 2700 posts in less then 6 months... Man, all I do sometimes is post and I cant hit 1k...:postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2::postwhore2:

So the hybrids with just a TN turbo for example should put me around 390 hp... and still be relatively safe...

I would have thought that since big oil increases the powerband that this coupled with the singles would jump me up to 400 hp real quick and hold that for the majority of the rpm range.

BWD dyno'd a truck with PMRs (2001), TN drop in 1.0 (thrust bearing), spearco, and mini mes 437whp ~1017rwtq in jody's 80e tune. stock fuel system, no oil.
brian has the dyno data. that truck ran a 14.x if i'm not mistaken.

Hybrids and a turbo for the cheapest way into faster ETs. Big oil for towing, driveability and ability to support any larger injector.

BTW... I need to check my rods... my truck was made in kentucky, and I happened across the build date of the motor while I had the turbo off... 01/01.... much closer to 10/00 then I though and I've heard of some 01's having forged rods!

Well with the stock I/C and tymar that should restrict my power by a few ponies... and keep me closer to 400. :)

That truck has 35's and it ran a low 14 IIRC... I think it's a red crewcab and it's got 35" tires.

I'll be stock height, stock tires, and probably weight a bit less since I can get my crewcab under 7,000 lbs if I tried ;)

My truck has forged rods... engine made jan12 01...but it was also made in Mexico, they might have stock piled some engines.

My truck I think said kentucky on the motor... or something near there. I know since it's a platinum that at least the truck was assembled in that plant.
