Hello, I am wondering where the QSSB fits in as far as size.

Larger than GT38R
Similar to GT42R?
Smaller than H2E?

I read/heard that it was a S300 that was modified by Zane. Correct?

All I have to say is, "Damn"!! I just did a 4WD boosted launch (20lbs.) and I need to go see my chiro tomorrow!! It absolutely will not lite below 5 lbs.!!

I was curious about the beginnings of this turbo because my buddy waid it was not pssible that it was a S300. Didn't that come from a 10 liter big rig?

Is this a descent turbo to grow with? What would the next step up be? H2E???

Their is a TDS member making 450hp on #2 and 500+hp on NOS with the QSSB. I also heard that the QSSB was from a big rig.

I think if you want to go bigger a H2e would be route to go because you have a lot of options to modify it. I would talk to Zane and see how far the QSSB can be pushed.

I love my QSSB. And, yes, it is off a S300, not H2E.

But, then I'm not as demanding as some of you punks are.;)
Shay what happened to being hated by the Sierra club thing in your sig. ? I can't wait to get a bigger better wind maker. My stocker is making some new noises, and yes I too like boosted 4x4 launches!

FWIW I have been over 480rwhp for just over a year now with nothing but the little BB Garrett.

And I fired the truck last night for the first time with the exhaust also passing through the GT47 on it's way out....

That thing should move some air

I'm actually working up the final location of the downpipe now. Just took a break to get something else to drink (Friday Fabwork) so hopefully I can take it for a spin tonight.

The cold side plumbing including the air intake and all is 99%. Just have to cut down one last 45 for the driver's side CAC tube and it's done.

It's a GT47-88 first stage and the ole standby GTP38R for the second stage. Tial 44mm wastegate cut directly into the 1.15 housing on the GTP38R.

I think it all sits in the truck damn nice. Once the hot side is completely done I'll try and snap a couple pics of the setup even though I'll still have a few more lines/hoses and such to re-arrange for cosmetic reasons...

But the bulk of the work will be in place to see.

Had it, Ran it and sold it. Not worth the extra price over the standard H2 IMO. The QSSB just seemed to hit a wall around 43 psi, 3 different sets of injectors, multiple tunes from tunners. Would not go over 43 psi. If you get ahold of one, take it apart, do some measurements, read a book or three on turbos and form your own opinion. As a single primary, It works great for stg 2's or smaller. Hybrids and B's, way to small. It would work great as the high pressure in a twin setup, but you would need to choke down the exhaust housing to get it to spool.

Now the new charger, 50 psi and moves more air ~1200cfm, I like. Injectors need to go back for a tune up.

Oh, I'm still hacking them off, as well as others. :D The Sierra Club around here really hates the boosted 4x4 launches you do from a stoplight when they are protesting on the corner.

I do like my QSSB, but then I'm not one of the heavy hitters in my X. I would love to be, but money and time say no right now. I still need it to haul my kids all over the state to soccer and basketball games, and next football. I'm fairly happy with the way it is now. I like the whistle a lot.

Right now Alan has the ASB on his '97. He seems fairly happy with it, but just does not have the big injectors to really go with it yet. Hopefully if we can get ahead on some things around here, he can move up in the world. I know that would make him happy and I'd like to see his little white truck take a step up.

Bottom line, the QSSB is a great turbo. But, it all depends on what you are going for.
I have the fastest "soccer mom" vehicle in our soccer club. LOL. I can even hold my own on I-25, with a truck load of ******* men yelling at me from my backseat.
Not too mention those dudes who pull up next to me at a stoplight in their little fancy cars, look over, roll their eyes and rev their engines. Smoke rolls real nice into those sunroofs.

Put me up against most of these guy's trucks, well......most of these trucks are in a different league than me.

Just call Pius. He'll tell you what he thinks of that stink'n QSSB. It'll never flow as much as his KSB? Whatver it's called is not of importance. Pius will set you straight.
