I like the give that the stockers have... if something is going to break I would rather have them bend the something else... Just my opinion...

No on the comp cams PN but BWD has a set of there push rods sitting on the shelf IRRC. As for harder valves just get them cryo treated. That will help.

If you put in inconel valves you need to make sure that you have good pushrods and good valvesprings, the only reason that you would bend a pushrod is if you were floating the valves... increased spring pressure will keep that from happening. The same goes with valves, if you are floating the valves then you have a big chance at bending them, with good springs it keeps everything on par with what should be going on... i did a gaser turbo car that had some crap valvesprings and it kept bending valves and pushrods, i put on a set of good valvesprings for the guy and he picked up 4 lbs of boost along with it fixing his problems...

Do the heads need to be removed to install the higher pressure valve springs and push rods or can it be done by pressurizing the cylinder with air somehow?

With Piston/valve clearances of only about .020 you may be able to put each piston to TDC to keep the valves from falling in. Just a thougth. I paid to have my engine assembled becasue I'm no expert.

you can apply air in the cylinders to do it with the heads on to truck, I know that matco has the fitting to go in the glow plug hole. thats the best way to do it...

Those valve springs are only 130 lbs./in.
#910-16 is a 380 lbs.'on. spring that everyone else is saying to run.
Black widows springs are 340 lbs./in. So what is the correct spring rate???

There is no "correct" seat pressure (I think that is what you are referring to and not spring rate?). What lbs springs to get depend on things like pressure differential, RPM, etc. 350-400 range is probably pretty decent for most applications.

Stock are around 250 in/lbs at like 35mm IIRC. So anything over 250 is an improvement.

The difference between two listed springs could be the way they are measured. For instance, seat pressure, open pressure or pressure at cam adv lift.

Do you know what the part # was??
You can do it in the truck with each cylinder in TDC. I did mine while the heads were off to get fire ringed.

Comp Cams Part #s as follows:

26120-16 1.445" Beehive Springs
4696-16 Spring Locators (head might need to be machined to fit this part)
795-16 Spring Retainers
617-16 Valve Locks

What does that cost compared to Hypermax, BWD etc springs?
