Hello everyone! I was thinking about adding propane for the fuel milage increase once I save up a little money. I dont realy care about the power increase but has anyone with a 6.0 used it with great results? Im hoping it will bump me up from 11/14 mpg to 15 town/19 hwy.

Do you have the truck tuned? When i had Erics tunes and Tadds tunes on my 6leaker I could get milage as good as your goals

Here is where I will buck the trend. I have used a bulley dog system for about 50,000 miles and the only problem I had was when the needle valve in the system went bad. This was my fault as I had it plumbed into the EGR cooler and the high water temps killed the valve and seat. The best mileage I got was an astounding 26.4MPG hand calculated. I am now building a system of my own that has very few parts and will post instructions if it work as designed.

I have ran tuners almost from day one but never had a "propane tune". I now run Innovative tunes but nothing propane specific. The only problem I have now is when it rains I must shut down the system. It gets very scary when at 50 MPH on the freeway you hit the throttle wheels instsantly break loose and try to swap ends on you!!!

i've heard a bunch of guys using the powershot 2000 propane injection kit with zero issues and absolulty love it. There's a natural gas company in my area that have a bunch of 6.4 powerstrokes that have CNG kits on their trucks and have been running them on the trucks for the past few years with no tuning and no issues.

ive been running propane on my 6.0 for about 3 years now... by far my favorite mod... instant 100hp and 5mpg... I won't take long road trips without it anymore... about a $1000 total into my system including the two aluminum 8 gallon forklift tanks I have tucked up under my pickup where the spare tire used to be... Im thinking about buying another regulator this summer and turning it into a two stage system... Goodluck

i had propane on for 4 years and loved the milage gain, i'll be putting my propane kit on the tow truck this spring when i build a tank for it, it adds alot of torque in the towing band but don't try and run it for top end hp. the superchips kit i had was great, it had the flexability to only inject very small amounts that helped with milage, stay away from the pro shot 2000

Ive used MSD which is now superchips, it is awesome and computer tunable so the settings are endless. You can use as little of 1% or wide open style, i definitly agree, i got at least an extra 5 mpg with a 10" lift and 40" tires.

Propane for more MPG's - PowerStrokeNation

Here is a link to the thread i started on this.
So what is the verdict for propane in a 6.0? This thread was for a 7.3. I too am looking for better mpg's. I tow a 16k# trailer and do not want to be stranded. I would even consider turning off the propane while towing my trailer. When I am not towing I leave my SCT on extreme tunes from Innovative. Best I could get with 35" tires is 13-14mpg hwy. Not really looking for more power but it would be nice.
