OK first off I'm not swapping a Cummins into the truck but my question still applies to the tach. How do you guys that swaped out a Powerstroke for a Cummins get you stock tach to work?

I red about having 2 more slots machine into the harmonic balancer and wiring directly to the tachometer itself bypassing the pcm using a two wirre pick up. Now I've seen that works for trucks that had the V10 gasser in them, does this trick also work for the trucks that had the Powerstroke in them as well?

Basically i need to know if the the diesel tachometer itself is looking for 4 pulses per revolution like the gasser tach, i blieve the diesel pcm looks for 58 pulse per revolution im hoping the pcm coverst the 58 to 4 for the tach *fingers crossed* If it does that meas i can use a signal converter for my planned engine swap.
