I don't know about best, I use Mobile 1 synthetic ATF...R

Me neither, I just flushed mine out and threw in some tractor hydraulic fliud I had laying around. Been in there for like 40K now, I can turn the steering wheel with one finger sitting still.

When I bought my truck it was almost bone dry & squeeked. I dumped in about a 1/3 of a quart of Lucas power steering fluid into it to fill it up & it quieted right down. I still have a leek but I just keep dumping a little cheap Valvaline into it every week or so. I still haven't heard a squeek out of it & it turns smoothly!

Whatever ATF or ~32 hydraulic fluid I have laying around.
