Not I, but Kenny (Boggerr) does. Every time down the track he'd blow off the cap off. Fortunately we found it in the frame. He now has a rag around it and tie wrapped on. Not sure why it is doing it though. If the level is a bit high, that might cause it, or maybe a new cap is needed.

I found one at PEP BOYS that has metal tabs. I am going to bend them a bit to see if it grabs better.

If I ever have to steer without the engine running it blows the cap off. Other than that, mine stays put. I have lost one, but like I say, the replacement has been much better about staying put.

Must be the rpm with the heavy steering effort while pulling the sled. Cause I can attest that it is not just the rpm, lol.

But y'all are not alone. I've seen it too.

I lost mine durring a sled pull. I was fighting it to stay on for the last year or so. I tried the rag around it as seen in some of my truck pics. That just kept it from slinging fluid around the exhaust manifold but the cap would still come loose. I ended up getting a new cap. I drilled out the vent hole to 1/4" and put a strip of steel wool in the hole. I have pulled 3 or 4 times with the new setup. It has not come off or loose since. It is staying put for now.

Keep strokin'

mine is still tight.
maybe it is getting pressurized, by high rpm runs.

my trained gerbil just don't spin as fast as your guys.

Mine has done the same thing. How is the 1/4" vent hole working?

It holding up great so far. I replaced it in July right after my pull in Sonora, Ca. Since then, I have put over 3000miles pulling trailers, 5000miles solo and 4 sled pulls. Not one problem since.

one bad thing about a simple hole.
if it pressuizes enough to pee out of you will get basically atf fluid spray which will catch fire on the headers . I just put one out on a mustang a few
weeks ago, that burst a tranny line.

i would start with a 1/16 1st, then an 1/8th etc..maybe put a small tube facing down incase it does leak.

could always drill a small hole through the the tabs and flange and pin it with a cotter pin . though if it is pressurized bad enough to blow a cap ? knows .

How about a pin like on the tongue of a trailer? You know the U with the swing bar that locks in place.. Just drill the neck of the reservoir and the U would go over the top of the cap?
