Howdy everyone,

I've been searching high and low for a picture of a stock F-350 4x4. I am looking for what it looks like with stock tires or maybe 265s, all I can find is gargantuan sized tires. If anybody has any leads I appreciate it.

Great rides by the way, these are such classic looking trucks

Wow, I must be blind, I figure I've seen a few of those diesel deal videos but never that one. What do you think those tires are? Probably 265 75 16?

Thank you for finding that and taking the time. I have some tires to buy in the near future and would like to to figure out if I can save some weight in the tire department to raise mpgs.

Matt
Hard to tell.
The stock 235s are 31.7x9.3
while 265s are 31.7 x10

I don’t run anything smaller than 285/75r 16s, (on my 4th OBS with over a million Kms logged in total). Best mileage was with my 96 CCLB 4x4 ZF-5 3:55 gears, swamps 150-146 jectors and supporting mods. With for noted tires. Consistently 22-24 Miles per imperial gallon, 65-70 Miles per hour, if I kept it under 2150 rpm would yield best results.

My feeling is 265 tires are too small with these trucks unless you’re pulling max GVWR all the time and even then you’ll be reving the piss out of it on the highway.

Lastly purchase quality tires that balance well and wear evenly.

Ill join the party. Here it is . 1997 F350 4x4 7.3 with 139K currently. Been more than satisfied with it since I bought it around 131k.

Looking forward to many more miles, maintenance, and modifications.

As well as learning a ton from all of you and hopefully connecting with a few if you along the way. I know the OBS is a dying breed, but I sure like them.

Well, here is a more recent picture of my truck, 1997 F350 Crew Cab Long Bed.

I pulled the 235/85R16's off and put on 35x12.50R17 Super Swamper Cobalt MT's and Moto Metal 984's.
