Where would you guys put the temp probe for my air temp gauge Post IC? Just after the IC in the IC tube or in the Y pipe? Gauges Gauges Gauges...:D

I think the intake Y would be the good place.

Are you going to running one guage post IC and one pre IC to see the temp drop?

You'd be money ahead if you'd just buy a data logger with a jillion sensors and mount your laptop up where you could see it.... then you could just keep adding sensors.... cool ones like, shock travel, g- forces (front to back and side to side), 9 egts, one after each cylinder, and post turbo... intake air, hot air, post cac, water temp, oil temp, power steerting temp, diff temp, air pressure in your tires :D, driveshaft speed, engine speed, (those two together can calculate converter slip or clutch slip, turbine speed (yes one of the companies has an optical sensor that will measure turbine speed), oil pressure, boost, hpop, fuel pressure, fuel flow (gpm), cylinder head temp, brake pressure, exhaust back pressure, transmission line pressure, I'm sure that there are more... just can't think now... to early... I have a data logger in my drag car with a ton of sensors.... it takes all that info to make a car with a 26x8.5" slick run 8.90's at 3000lbs.... :ford:

Joe, I have one coming out of the compressor outlet and one in the top of the Y, both in spider. And one on the compressor inlet.

What kind of temps do you see comming out of the the turbo and the intercooler?

What kind of temps do you see comming out of the the turbo and the intercooler?
Turbo inlet air is generally 20 deg over ambient. At 25-28# boost, comp outlet air is in 380-420'ish range. Stock CAC will consistently cool it to about 20 deg over inlet air temp. i.e. Outside 80 ambient, inlet about 100, over 400 comp out, CAC out drops to 120 deg. So at the manifold is ~40 deg over outside ambient.

This is one reason I question the CAC sellers/promoters out there so much. A lot of money to get an ~40 deg more drop from CAC. Also, once I get my new hood and get some better air flow through engine and drop my inlet temp, then the difference will be even less. It may pickup a few PSI with better flow in new CAC too. Well those are my results.

Good post. I saw truck the other day that had a pop up door in the hood right over where the air filter would be. Looked kind of odd driving down the street with that sticking up like a reverse air brake on a plane.

Yeah but if he had a data logger he wouldn't have a dashboard that looked like a ric...er....cockpit! :D

Dual IAT gauge is one on my list to fill the last spot in my pillar. Only thing is they aren't cheap. I think Autometer wants like $300 for their's or something like that.
