I think I have decided on those two turbos for my compounds. Just in the research i've done. . . and the inquiries I've made. . . they seem to be a good match. I still am not sure on turbine housing sizes and wastegate options. . so if anybody has any input. . . please put it in:) Also. . . i'm trying to figure out what the options are for a PS62 downpipe flange. I would like whichever one that will make it the easiest to connect that to the K31. So let the feedback begine. Thanks.

sound like a pretty good pair to me i would not think the k31 would need to be wastegated

I think i agree, i should just use my right foot as a final wastegate for top end boost right? or let er rip as high as it will go. . . because I'm going to do that anyway:gun: But for the high pressure turbo. . . should that be wastegated? Everybody seems to do that. I wired the stock wastegate on my first setup shut. Whats everybodies thoughts on A/R ratios? So far all i've heard is somewhere around a .80 on the highpressure, and I think similar on the low pressure too. Makes sense I guess. . . i went from a .84 to a 1.0 on my stocker. . . and the difference was substantial. I much prefered the spool up of the .84. now that was a little restrictive only because the stock turbo is just small right? a .80 or so on the 62 should flow quite a bit more then on the stocker i would imagine. More thoughts?

What are you thinking might destroy my engine? Are you just worried about backpressure? I wish there was a great and easy way of measuring backpressure. . . As I don't hold too much weight in the factory back pressure sensor. And getting a gauge hooked up to it is a pain. . .

Not backpressure, BOOST. I haven't ran the math cause I dont know what that turbo is capable of, haven't seen its map, but you sure should.

I know Charles could DESTROY things in short order with his setup (kill innocent bystanders with rods so he says) if he didn't have BOTH stage wastegated ALL the way down on 2 tial 44mm's, and then some LOL

Just buy a boost gauge and use a pipe thread T that fits the ebps tube. Then plumb in your guage and your sensor. An OBS guy over at FTE did it and it works great.

Put at least 10" of copper then go to plastic or it will melt. Copper all the way make way too much noise.

yes copper is quite noisy. . . I've had two of them in there measuring my first setups back pressures. . . but I found that I needed a fitting with an incredibly small orfice to damper the exhaust pulses in order for the guage to be any good. I had the T1 guage set pretty good. . . but never got another orfice for T2. As far as boost. . . as long as I can see how much I'm making. . . and until i tear the motor down. . . I should be able to just use my right foot to control the boost right? or maybe i won't have that self control? What are people thinking this combo might push for boost?

I stuck a 1/8" tee in the fitting that the EBP sensor screws into, then put the sensor on top, and ran copper line to the firewall and ran nylon inside. The gauge didn't have an orifice in it and it bounced around like crazy all the time. Two weeks ago it stopped working. The line is clean, i tried to clean the gauge out but all i got was a black sooty goo out. Took that gauge out and replaced it with the beta DP pod switch. :D
