its leaking at the rod and i was wondering if i just un hook the wire going to the pedistal will it stop the leak because it will not be moving the rod? or should i just buy the non ebpv pedistal and be done with it. and if i buy that is there any specail things i need to do when i put this on. i have an 02 and my leak has gotten worse just over the weakend and it has been leaking for awhile now not really sure what to do

On the exhaust side of the turbo is the exhaust back pressure valve which is a butterfly flap that is actuated by the rod. There is a non ebpv exhaust housing that can be put on the turbo and it deletes the butterfly flap.So you will need a non ebpv pedestal and a non ebpv exhaust housing or you can rebuild you existing pedestal with this ebpv repair kit. http://www.dieselorings.com/index.php?page=details&prod=46&cat=9&group=6
Here is the pedestal and housing. http://www.dieselorings.com/index.php?page=details&prod=129&cat=9&group=6
