The last several days my batteries seem to be getting weak. Has anyone used O'reilly Super Start Extreme batteries?
They also list a new positive cable for $75, just wonder if these are any good. They didn't have one in stock to look at, but mine has seen it's better day and I need to build or buy a new one.
Thought about machining some new ends from solid copper and silver braze the cables to them??

there was a write up a couple weeks ago. i think Arisley was looking at building a new set of cables i think he used 00 welding leads... not sure what he decided on the connectors... as for batteries i use Diehard gold.. i havent had too much of an issue with oreilly's parts theyre always willing to help out when i go in, and their lifetime warranty is pretty good!

You can buy standard ends made of copper. But if to decide to make a duplicate of that big ugly passenger side positive end, let me know. If they aren't too expensive I want one.

If you have the time and money to machine ends for the cables, just go buy the factory cable, it's only like $115.

You're right, it would be cheaper to just buy them, the only thing I was thinking is that they would be much more reliable with custom ones. I have to clean mine at least once a month and they are in bad shape. But then again they are 10 years old! I suppose a new set would last at least 10 more years, probably the life of the truck??? Thanks

I used the MotorCraft MAX's from O'Rileys on my early 99, I was very pleased with them, and the warranty is UNMATCHED from any I have seen. 4 yr free replacement, and 108 months total. THAT IS 9 YRS!

Batteries were too weak to start the truck last night so I ended up getting the "super start extreme" 84 month 3 year free replacement batts. They were $92.99 each. The Motorcraft were $129.00 each with three year free replacement but now 100 month warranty rather than 108? Guess everyone is cutting back now days??

Anyway the cables are still shot but I did manage to get them off and back on and working until I can decide which way I want to go to replace them.
