truck details: Bought a deleted, straight piped, 2011 f-350. Absolutely no other info about what was done to the truck. NOTHING.

Just blew the second 2011 Garret in less the 20k miles. Looking to upgrade to the next level turbo from stock. The bare minimum above ceramic bearings. Since there is no idea what if anything has been done other than the delete and straight pipes, what is the best path forward to eliminate blowing the turbo? Here’s what I’m thinking: Stage 1turbo upgrade, flash the computer, standard tuning for best towing. Good, bad? Best turbos? Beat tuners? Opinions please

May look into tuning, intercooler and piping before the hole turbo route. Let me know if you’d like any more info.

Have to replace the turbo regardless. Since I have to replace the turbo should I upgrade to the 2017 stock turbo? Then tune accordingly?
