So I pulled the turbo on a friends 97 to fix the leaking actuator rod and noticed on the back side of the pedestal theres a little bolt that looks like a temp sender could go in there? Is this a possility to do this and if so would it be more beneficial to shut down the turbo on oil temp rather than egts?
Just a thought I had when I saw it.

Ya know I was thinking the same thing, maybe Ill just try it when I get the money together for beans turbo, cause I think you pretty much have to have the ped off to reach that spot, not real sure its the first and only turbo Ive pulled so far. I dont know what the temp "should be" or even if it matters, but Im sure I could figure the norm out over time. Do bb turbos have oil in em too?
thanks Tom

Thanks, yes a BB turbo has oil flowing through the cartridge too. I think in addition to lube it also serves the purpose of cooling the turbo.
