Are there any upgrades for the factory LPOP? I’ve heard that the dreaded #7 lifter failure can be attributed to the fact that it’s at the back getting the least oil pressure. Was hoping to find an upgrade to the stock oil pump. Or maybe add extra oil lines to the back of the heads to keep clean oil under good pressure to the back lifters? If a $700 oil pump upgrade and updated pushrods means avoiding a $3,000+ repair bill, I’ll do it.

You’re trying to over/re-engineer something that doesn’t need it. The LPOP does a fine job until ingests something it shouldn’t. You can get billet gears but it will not flow any different. Billet gears go in 1500 hp+ trucks and there are no oiling issues.

Regular/timely oil changes with proper fluids/filters will be your best option.

And the pieces that actually controls how much pressure is produced is the regulator assembly. It’s the big Allen bolt in the front cover by the LPOP. And to my knowledge there are no options for different springs.
