Hello everyone! just wanna start off by saying that while I am a new member, I am NOT new to 7.3s and I have been stalking this forum for quite a long time lol since there doesn't seem to be too many build threads on the forums lately (everyone seems to have moved on the facebook and Instagram these days) I want to treat everyone to my build. This is going to be a build thread for my 1996 f250 that I have been pulling, dirt dragging, street racing and street driving for quite some time now. first lets start with where the truck is at currently:

Full force 160/30s

Adrenaline 20* hpop

Super duty gtp 38 with riffraff wheel, ats ported housing, 360 thrust, .84 wastegated hotside with wastegate welded shut

truck is hoodstacked

stock superduty intercooler with 3" charge pipes, cfm spider and 3" plenums

STOCK mechanical fuel pump/fuel system (yes you read that right)

hydra with dan k's top notch tuning

Stock zf5 with south bend street dual disc clutch\

Truck made 424hp/869tq on fuel and 474/929 on a very conservative nitrous pull. its the only 7.3, and the only manual truck that ever comes to the local dirt drags and it has never lost a race (both on the street and the dirt). truck is a top5 contender at all of the local pulls. I pull in the hot street and rwyb classes and hang a weight box. I want to step my game up this coming year so a build is in order. I'm going to the 7.3 jamboree in may at Beans diesel if anyone wants to hang out PM me and we will meet up. the build sheet for this year is a very simple one but I believe it will be effective. the plans are:

238/100 rosewoods

retain the adrenaline 20*

turbo lab 67mm compressor kit with 1.0 housing (dead set on using stock frame turbo. just a personal goal of mine to break 550whp with a home built stock frame turbo)

bosch 044 pump with aeromotive regulator

headstuds, pushrods and valve springs

have to rebuild my spare zf5 the dirt drags have killed my third gear synchro

headlight intake (underhood temps are atrocious)

bucket racing seats (factory bench is rough) with nitrous bottle in bewtween

handbrake tied to rear brakes to aid with drifting at starting line

fire extinguisher just in case crap hits the fan haha

the goals for all of this are: 550rwhp on fuel 600 on nitrous
wanna go low 13s/high 12s in 1/4 and wanna consistently pull 300'. I think this is all doable with my build sheet. I will do the best I can to keep pics and build progress update as much as I can!

Hey folks! just an update. Pulled the turbo and wiring harness out of the truck (the harness was covered in oil from an hpop line bursting, gonna clean it up). received my 238/100 rosewoods, 1.0 housing and the 67mm turbo lab kit last week. I got the turbo put together and ready to go in the truck. Waiting on injector orings, pushrods, valve spring and head studs. once all of that comes in ill be able to actually get started on installing things :) changed my mind on the 044 pump. I think I am just going to purchase the 444fab budget kit which uses a gls392 pump. I'm aware that walbro qc has went down hill recently but that's ok if it fails ill replace it with a better pump but the truck doesn't see much street use so when it fails its not like I will be stranded.

Alright so plans have changed just a little bit. I don't believe that I am going to do studs just yet. time is flying by and funds are tighter than anticipated (damn medical bills for the birth of our first child just started rolling in) so I'm going without studs to free up my budget for the fuel system. I will be ordering the 444fab budget kit in 2 weeks when I get paid again. I don't believe going studless will hurt me too much, I know of several people running 250/200s making 600+ without studs so I'm willing to risk it for the biscuit. Have a spare engine that I am going to be building with all of the supporting mods so if this one lifts the heads at Bean's in May I'm totally ok with that haha

So on my current .84 exhaust housing the wastegate is welded shut because there isnt enough room to fit the actuator when using a super duty turbo on an obs without a body lift (atleast in this case). well I upgraded to a 1.0 housing and I don't wanna ruin it in case I swap it out and want to run it on my super duty, so I machined this simple solution. I think if I added a spring I could make it function as a backpressure relief when I am spraying it but idk if I'm even gonna explore that idea just yet. simple yet effect I do believe!

Well looks like I may just go ahead and make one then. need to get a drive pressure gauge installed and tune based off of that instead of boost pressure. I could not care less how much boost it is making when my bottle of Senor Giggle is being forced down its throat.

How do you like that turbo?
I love it, just wish it spooled up at lower rpm. It dosent really gett going til around 2000 rpm. This one is in my 02

The 1 in my obs I got from Riff Raff and noticed a huge difference right away. It's the hybrid
