So I know NOS is good for big power, and big holes in engine blocks, but what about small amounts for towing. I know it clears the smoke, but what effect does it have on EGTs? If you had a small shot and good programming would there be any benefit in using it to get up over those big hills.

NO...nitrous should only be used when the tach is rapidly rising...like racing.

If you're looking to get over those hills with lower EGT's you need to look into a water only injection kit. It can be used like you describe.

Water injection is already on this list, I was just thinking. I don't know much about NOS in diesels.

nitrous is very expensive, i wouldnt mess with it.

Water injection... I can tow about any hill or mountian pass pulling 8-10k on the race setting and hold 1200 all day long...

Adding NOS will spike the temps......but I would be lying if I said I never sprayed while in tow....does a sled count?

I didn't know about the effects on EGTs, with an increase it wouldn't work well for normal towing, now for sled pulling ............
